Our Emmaus Equestrian Team competed at the 2024 County Saddlery IQ State Championships at Toowoomba over the school holidays. While the weather was much kinder this year, it did not make the competition any easier! With dressage classes of 20 - 35 riders and jump classes of 50+ riders, our team members performed amazingly!
In Secondary Combined Training, Lucy B was placed 4th overall in CT 95cm and received her first golden ticket to the Australian Championships in September. Eloise H rode in her very first state championships in the primary CT 60cm which was a great experience for her.
In Secondary Showjumping Lucy B earned her second ticket to Nationals in the Intermediate 100cm placing 3rd overall and in her first state championship jumping at 110cm Lucy and Hugo placed 6th overall. Lyla S and Bounce had some good jump rounds and some not so good ones but never gave up showing resilience and determination.
Another of our riders who showed resilience was Alicia D riding in the Elementary Dressage classes, placing 7th in one class and 4th in the other to be 4th overall and also earning a golden ticket to the National Championships. Fraser D has only been competing in dressage for 3 months and went on to place 8th overall in a class of 32 riders in Intermediate Preliminary Dressage which was an awesome effort! Casey -Jade C rode well in her Senior Novice tests despite her horse not settling into the competition.
In the Primary Show Horse class, Chloe W was 9th overall. In the Intermediate Show Horse class, Fraser D was 3rd overall earning him a ticket to Nationals and in the Intermediate Show Hunter class, Fraser was 5th overall with Dakotah B 6th overall.
Arianna S placed 3rd overall on the Eventing leaderboard in EvA60cm also earning herself a ticket to Nationals.
Huge congratulations to all our riders especially to those who are now qualified to compete on the Queensland Interschool Team at the Marcus Oldham Australian Interschool Championships. This year Interschools Queensland is hosting this event at the Tamworth Equestrian Centre during the September School holidays. We wish those riders all the best and look forward to hearing about their adventures.
This term two of our Equestrian families have left the college. We wish Chloe W, Dakotah and Alexis B and their families all the best as they start new journeys.
Finally thank you to Ms Pickard and our parents who have supported our riders this year at school, regional and state competitions. The success of our riders is all due to your unwavering support as well as our riders' determination and resilience. We look forward to our own Showjumping event in August and hope to see many of our riders and families there.
